Sometimes when I see a certain jacket in a thrift store, I instantly know that I must get it, even when it costs more than twice what I would normally pay for such a garnment. There is no way that I can walk away from the thing, knowing it could be transformed into a spectacular bag of two…
I’d like to share a recent example involving a precious piece of fabric in the form of a sweet evening ladies jacket by Simon Chan, looking more like moiré or bûlé silk rather than pure linen! The find took place at Vinnie’s, my favourite sleuthing grounds in Peterborough. I am so thrilled by the splurge.
The bags make exquite little evening numbers, each unique due to different accent features such as varied linings, distinct openings, or a pop of colour in the zip. (The one pictured happens to be grey but some are turquoise or magenta.)
Available in early June, this Trapezoid Bag will sell for $118 at Meta4 Gallery in Peterborough and Port Perry, ON, and the Old Mill Artisans store (see Facebook page by the same name) @ 76 Front Sreet in the Village of Gagetown, NB.
